Video: Lecture Hall Center on the Unteres Schloss campus

The new lecture hall center is the heart of the city center campus of the University of Siegen and it was completed at the end of 2020.  Three lecture halls, seven seminar rooms and a spacious foyer area were created there, enabling up to 1,350 students to study and work in the complex at the same time.  594 people can be seated in the largest of the three new lecture halls, and 202 in each of the two smaller halls. The seminar rooms vary in size and can accommodate between 41 and 79 people. In addition, the three halls are each equipped with large-screen projectors, electro-acoustic systems, systems for the hard of hearing and automatically dimmable lighting. The largest lecture hall is named after Dr. hc. Friedrich Schadeberg († 2018, owner of Krombacher brewery).

The building is completely barrier-free, there are special places for wheelchair users in all lecture halls. The foyer in front of it measures a good 280 square meters and offers a beautiful view of the Schlossplatz through large windows. It can be used for events and receptions. A representative, new facade with large glass windows has been created towards the historic Schlossplatz.
